We have been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! Students finished up their writing prompts on Friday and have a few more end of the quarter assessments to take in the next couple of days. They have been great, as always. Very flexible as our schedule has changed to accommodate these assessments, as well as the little extra things that pop up the weeks before Christmas! Friday is the end of the quarter. Everything will be turned in by Friday and report cards will go home when we return from Christmas Break.
Thursday is our "Tiger Token Party". We will celebrate in Christmas style and wear our jammies, drink hot cocoa, eat candy canes, and watch a Christmas movie. Students can wear slippers, however they do need actual shoes to wear to school and in the restrooms, P.E., and lunch. Friday is our Christmas party! We will party at 10:30 am. We have a few needs if you are interested in signing up. We are doing a "Cookies and Milk" theme. We have 20 students in our class. Anything brought must be store bought/ pre-packaged. You can click HERE to sign up to send something! Or if you are interested in doing a small, easy craft with the class, let me know! Friday is also a 1/2 day of school. Students will be released at 12:35. I hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas and enjoy the time with your families!!!

We have a very busy 2 weeks leading up to our break! But fun things have been going on in room 305!
Writing- Students have been working hard on researching a famous scientist or inventor. They are wrapping up their presentations and sharing over the next few days. They have done a GREAT job. They really enjoy getting to share with their classmates what they learned about their topic. We will begin our 2nd quarter writing prompt on Tuesday and work on it over the rest of the week. Reading- We are wrapping up the quarter in reading, too. We will be reviewing main idea, theme, and author's purpose this week and will take the 2nd quarter reading assessment at the beginning of next week. Math- we have been working on telling time to the nearest minute and I am SUPER impressed with how fast your little smarties caught on. We will review this over the next week and will continue working on elapsed time! Science- Measuring properties of matter. We have been talking about how to measure the different types of matter and what tools to use. This week, students will get a chance to try out some of those tools!! :) Other Announcements: *We have so many opportunities to give this holiday season.
