When did it get so far into the school year? This week has been busy and I apologize for my late responses in some emails or calls. My daughter has been sick and of course fell on a week when I had to be gone again for a math meeting. Wow...but I bring that up to remind you to have your children practice good handwashing (I'm very sure you do!) and to remember to keep them home if they have had a fever over 100 degrees or have thrown up or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours. Tis this season for some nasty flu bugs. Yuck.
It's also the season of giving. Our tree of H.U.G.S. is ready for decorations in the front hall by the office. We will be decorating the tree with new Hats, Underwear, Gloves and Socks. All donations will be distributed to Willard East families before Christmas.
Willard East's food drive begins next week, but we are already ahead of the game, thanks to many of you! Our class was asked to bring in soup. Thanks in advance for your donation!
I have recently received a few questions about the Christmas party. We won't have an offical Christmas Classroom Party. Instead, we will have our annual 3rd Grade "Read In". Students are encouraged to wear their jammies, robes, slippers, bring a small stuffed animal and drink hot chocolate, eat candy and donuts, read, and watch Christmas movies! I am working on an online sign up to donate an item for our Read In, and will hopefully have it posted shortly.
December 21'st is a half day and school will dismiss at 12:40.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay healthy and stay warm! It looks like our 70 degree weather may be gone for awhile!
Mrs. Letterman is a third grade teacher at Willard East. This is her fourth year in Willard, but her sixth year to teach third grade!
