We have officially been in school one week and so far it's been a good week!
Monday we started right on in on math. We took a pre-test to help me see where the kiddos are and what they need to learn during this unit. Writing we have started our Writing Tool Books where students can go for help or reference when they are writing a piece of their own this year. During reading we have been talking about picking good fit books and the purposes for reading what we do. And at the end of the day, we wrap things up with social studies and talking about maps and some of the terms we need to know to be able to read a map successfully! **Students will have a spelling test each Friday (or the last day of the week if we have a short week). Our first test will be tomorrow!** 3rd grade parent orientation will be next Tuesday, August 28th, at 6:30. Come find out about what all will be learned about in 3rd grade and hear about some of our expectations and procedures. There will also be a sheet to sign up for parent teacher confernces in October. And last but not least, here are my cries for help. I am in need of a homeroom parent! I have lots of volunteers but no parent yet. Please contact me if you are interested! Speaking of volunteers, if you have some free time, I need some tabs placed on our writing tool books! Please email or call after school if you are interested! Thanks for a great week! Always feel free to contact me if you have any
