I can't believe that the year is over! It has gone so fast! Tomorrow will be so bittersweet. While I am SO excited to be with my kiddos and spend the summer with them (I'm sure you're feeling the same!), I am so sad to see this group move on. I wish I could clone each one of them and keep them with me. THANK YOU for sharing your children with me this year. They each are truly amazing kiddos and I am SO proud of them.
Information for tomorrow: Tomorrow is the last day of school! We will release at 12:35. Report cards and progress notes will go home. If you signed up for summer school, your child received the paperwork earlier this week and was directed to give it to you as SOON as they got home Tuesday night! ;) *T-shirt/ yearbook signing- Tomorrow morning will be filled with signing yearbooks, school memory books we made in class, and t-shirts. I know this seems a little crazy but if your child does not have a Field Day tshirt and you are okay with them having their shirt signed tomorrow by other students, could you send me a note or an email? Our school shirts are free and usually are what gets signed but they are black this year, so unless you have a metallic marker, those aren't good options! I just know what it's like to spend money on your children's clothes (no matter the amount!) and seeing that there is a huge mark on it in permanent marker....let alone 22+ signatures! And you can imagine some of the things kiddos PROMISE their parents are okay with only to find out that really might not be the case. T-shirt signing is NOT required. We do also have a memory book or if your child purchased a yearbook, they can have others sign that. **I will NOT provide markers for shirt signings either. *If your child has a lunch balance or an overdue library book, PLEASE send it in tomorrow! Avoiding the "Summer Slide" Yesterday, I sent home a little tip sheet on avoiding the "summer slide". I know summers seem like they aren't all that long, but it is crazy the amount of regression that can happen over those 2 1/2 months. Then the first months of the next school year are spent trying to regain that progress and possibly keeping your child from preforming on grade level. Just doing some little things each day can help reduce that regression. *Reading for at least 30 min each day * Talking about what was read/ writing about it. * Keeping a journal writing stories about Thank you so much for all of your help and support this year. Have a WONDERFUL summer!!!!!
