Wow...the past two weeks have been a whirlwind! Between holiday things and snow, snow, and more snow, it's hard to believe this is the last week of school before Christmas. Because of the snow, snow, and more snow, it will also be a VERY busy week with getting reading, writing, and a math assessment completed before the end of the quarter on Friday.
Besides working hard on the three things above (reading, writing, and math assessments), we will manage to squeeze in a little bit of fun. Tomorrow will be Polar Express Day at Willard East! Students will get to experience this holiday classic with their classmates in the gym and on a big screen! Your child is welcome to wear pajamas and bring a small pillow or blanket if they would like to sit/lay on during the movie. Our class will watch the movie in the afternoon tomorrow from 1:00 to about 2:30. More fun follows on Thursday with our Annual Third Grade Read- In! If you have signed up to bring a non-perishable item, feel free to send those in! Please email me if you have signed up to be a guest reader! I just want to ensure that we don't have 3 parents all wanting to read Polar Express! The one thing that no one has signed up to bring is a "veggie tray". I would like the kids to have something somewhat healthy to snack on. If a few of you want to split that and do crackers, cheese, and grapes or carrots- or anything along those lines, shoot me an email. You can just send it with your child and drop it off at the office in the morning to make it as easy on you as possible! Last but not least, quarter DOES end on Friday, however, a paper copy of the report card will not go home until January 10. Have a great week!
