The MAP is finally upon us. We have been preparing all year and recently, have been working on practice tests, stratagies, and stamina. They seem very ready and I have no doubt that they will rock this test.
Next week, be sure your child arrives ON TIME. The Great Miller-ini will be coming around to classrooms to pass out supplies starting at 8:20. This is a fun little tradition that Principal Miller does. I am new to this and I am excited to see her grace us with her wizard skills each testing day and I'm sure this is something your child won't want to miss! (A perk of taking the MAP test!)
As a class, we have talked about making good habits this week to prepare. getting enough sleep (8-10 hours) and starting to practice this BEFORE Tuesday night. Make sure your child is getting enough sleep on a good sleep schedule, up in time to have a good, healthy breakfast, and leaving the house with a positive attitude! Children often play off of other emotions around them so keeping up beat and conveying the message of "Doing your best!" will be great motivators for the next couple of weeks.
We will test in the mornings (April 11-12th and 18th-19th), so if appointments are absolutely neccesary in the next two weeks, please schedule them for the afternoon hours.
I think that is it for today! Have a wonderful Easter Weekend! Play, rest, and start practicing those good habits! REMEMBER: NO SCHOOL TOMORROW (Friday, April 6th or Monday, April 9th)
Mrs. Letterman is a third grade teacher at Willard East. This is her 8th year in Willard, but her 10th year to teach third grade!
