There is a very small light appearing at the end of the tunnel. We are down to 2 1/2 weeks of school and things feel like they are dragging, yet, flying by all at the same time. I have enjoyed our class. We have had many laughs together and it's been so neat to watch them grow as kids and students. Thank you for all of the kind cards, candy, soda, and flowers that have been sent in this week. I love what I do. It's not the easiest job, but to me it's the best. Each day brings a new challenge and I love helping students overcome those challenges and become smarter each day.
After all of that appreciation...I meant to send a blog out Monday saying that we are finished with spelling for the year. I told the kids I would so if their parents thought they made it up, they had proof. ;) We finished our last unit the week before MAP. You may have heard the good news from your child already, but they have all become parents! All 19 of our students are proud parents to little, adorable baby....peanuts. This is a very fun writing project. They students have been very into this, as well as "caring" for their baby peanut. Each Peanut has a name and we will write about their "milestones" and create a baby book as our end project. (See pictures below of a couple of our new additions!) Tomorrow is another fun day at Willard East. To wrap up the Box Top Challenge between Willard North and our school, we will all eat a sack lunch outside and then walk over to the track to hear the announcement of the winner. We will be outside roughly 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Feel free to send sunblock again since tomorrow's forecast looks a littler sunnier than what we had yesterday. Last note! There are STILL Yearbooks if you would like the chance to have one! They are available for only $17 and they look great. What a nice memory of a wonderful year! I think that is all for now! Have a great weekend!
