Reading-
This week we have been learning that good readers are always making predictions about what will happen next. We have been working as a class on making predictions and in our reading groups. Writing- We have finished our rough draft of our first informational piece. We have also learned how to peer edit and next we will write our final copy. Math- We learned that many of the properties of addition also work with multiplication. At the beginning of the week we learned a new property called the distributive property that works with multiplication. Today, we will move on to two-step word problems Science- We are learning about what tools scientists need to sometimes use when conducting an experiment. We are currently working on measuring with a ruler. Other Announcements: **Picture retakes are TOMORROW, Friday, Nov. 14th. ** There are only 25 yearbooks left! One tradition at Willard East is helping out those who are less fortunate and giving to help make their holiday a little better! And it's a great way to teach our children about how to give to those in need. Each class will bring a specific item. Our class is in charge of bringing toilet paper for our baskets! This week we introduced Weekly Reader's to our room! Weekly Reader is published by Scholastic and is a news magazine for kids. It not only teaches them about current events but also exposes them to other types of non-fiction texts other than books!
