It's hard to believe that we are beginning to wrap up October and soon it will be November! The last couple of weeks have been very busy, but very fun! Thank you to all of the parents who went with us to Frontier Theatre! We had such a great time, as always! I am putting together a few pictures and will hopefully have those up on the website next week.
Coming up next week in our classroom: Writing: We will be starting a new descriptive writing project that is very fun and just in time for Halloween. Be sure to ask your student what this new writing project is all about! Reading: Groups have taken off and are going strong! We have been talking about strategies that we can use as a reader to help us understand what we are reading and how to check for if we do understand what we are reading. Math: We wrapped up our unit on collecting, reading, and using data today. That test will be Monday. I don't particularly like to test after a long weekend, but we need to get in and going on our next unit which will be about measurment. Your child may have brought home 3 worksheets to practice. These ARE NOT homework and aren't exactly like the test, but will give practice with reading graphs and making graphs like they will on Monday. Social Studies: We are starting a new government unit this coming week. We will begin by talking about being a good citizen and also talk about the Decleration of Independence and the purpose of the Constitution. Our fall party will be Wednesday, October 31st at 2:30. Also, be sure to send in order forms and money if you would like to purchase a Pumpkin Gram! I think that is all for this week. Have a good 3 day weekend (or your students at least!) since there is NO SCHOOL TOMORROW, Friday, October 2
