Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week! Third grade has sure been busy and I am SO proud of your students. Yesterday (Thursday), they took a math test and there was not a grade below a C. They worked hard and I am very proud of them! Here is a glance about what is up for next week:
*Field Trip permission slips are due Monday along with $12. Don't forget to mark if your child will be buying a lunch or bringing a lunch on the 18th. (We need to let the cafeteria know ASAP). If you plan on attending, don't forget to mark that and send in the $5.00 for your admission. Remember, if you plan to attend, you will have to drive due to an already full bus. You can follow us from school or meet us at the Frontier Theatre. Reading- We will start reading groups on Monday. DRAs are complete and Daily 5 is running smoothly. We are ready! Writing- Last week, we read a book called, "The Best Part of Me" and the students have been working on a similar piece of writing. We also wrapped up our community pop up books (informational writing) and have talked about good beginnings and good endings. Next week, we will tackle details! Spelling will be unit 8. For this unit we will focus on th ow/ ou sound. Math- Today (Friday) we started a new unit. This unit will focus on collecting, organizing, and reading data. Students will have homework on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Science- We wrapped up social studies last week and have started a new unit that will focus on the water cycle. We are currently working on a trip through the water cycle in the eyes of a drop of water. Don't forget that Friday is a half day for students. We will dismiss at 12:40
