Here is what is going on in room 305 this week! Time is flying and spring is right around the corner! We are BUSY, BUSY!
Writing: We are finishing up our second opinion pieces. Students have been a little more independent this time and seem to be doing a great job! We have used this second piece to review A LOT. We have talked about paragraphs, capitalization, punctuation, revising, editing, etc, etc. We have done a lot of review on some of these skills that have become a little...relaxed in their writing.;) We will start our 3rd quarter writing prompt by the end of next week! Reading- We are finishing up book clubs and will start working on non-fiction passages again over the next couple of weeks as their group finishes their book. Math- We are continuing to work on multiplication and division. This week we have talked about fact families and how finding the missing factor of a multiplication problem is the same as solving an division problem. BE SURE to keep working on facts at home! Science/ Social Studies- We are wrapping up talking about the 3 branches of government. Many students have become "Preamble Pros" and have done a great job at reciting the Preamble by heart! This week, we will shift gears and start talking about the sun! Other Announcements/ Upcoming dates: *Tomorrow night is Willard night at Skateland off of South Campbell. Willard North and East will hold a joint skate night! You can purchase tickets at the door. An adult must attend with children. *End of quarter is March 4th. Friday March 4th will also be a 1/2 day for students. *Spring Break= March 7th-11th.
