After much anticipation from the first day of school...the time to take the MAP Test has finally arrived. Here is the schedule for testing:
Language Arts- April 22,23,24 Math- April 29, 30, May 1 The class has done a great job preparing and based on a little writing activity, they are feeling about half excited and half scared! (Which is typical!) I won't break down what we're doing this week because it will depend on the day. The mornings will be testing and the afternoons we will still do math. For math, we will work on measurement of objects, finding perimeter, and mix a little MAP review in there as well for the math portion the next week. I did forget to mention this last week, we are done with our Weekly Reading Homework papers. We have pretty much done most of them, so we will be finished with those for the year. PLEASE keep reading at home nightly. This is one way to help your child to continue to grow as a reader. Have them read a little to you and some on their own. We also won't do a spelling list for the next two weeks while we are testing! Here is what else is going on this week! *We DO have school on Monday, April 21. It is a snow make-up day. *Reminder- Field Trip permission slips and money is due by NEXT MONDAY, April 28. The sooner, the better so we can let the cooks know how many sack lunches are needed. *We will have library on Monday of this week due to MAP testing and our schedule change. Next week, we will go to Library on Friday. After MAP is over, we will go back to normal.
