We wrap up October with some fun things! Conferences went great, we are enjoying our "Spirit Days" to celebrate being drug free, and we end the week with a fall party!
Reading- We have been talking about schema and introduced inferring today! Be sure to have your child read every night. Practice makes perfect. AND the better they read, the better they write! Writing- We continue to work on our informational writing unit. Students have picked an animal off of a kid based resource site called "Pebble Go" and we are starting to write our first piece together. Today we worked on our introductory paragraph and we will work the body and conclusion the rest of this week. Math- Tomorrow we will take our unit 2 math assessment. This assessment will check to see if students are able to multiply, divide, and solve word problems and decide if they need to use multiplication or division to solve a word problem. Our next unit will be a continuation of multiplication and division. Social Studies- We are wrapping up our US Symbols and important documents. Last week we talked about the importance of the Decleration of Indepenence and The Constitution. Our next unit we will begin to learn about measurment. Other Announcements: -Spirit Week for Red Ribbon Week is this week! Tomorrow is Drugs Hurt!- Fake Injury Day, Thursday is "Drugs get in the Way of your Dreams"- P.J. Day. And Friday is Tigers Don't Do Drugs- Tiger/ Willard Wear. -Our Fall Party is Friday afternoon at 2:45. We still need one more pumpkin for the party. Please let me know if you are able to bring a pumpkin. Parents are welcome to attend the party and celebrate fall with our class! -There is NO SCHOOL November 3rd or November 4th. Enjoy your 4 day weekend! November will FLY BY! Veteran's Day: Veteran's Day Breakfast/Assembly Information Who can come: All Veterans and their family. Where: Willard East Elementary When: Tuesday, November 11th, 8:30 AM Breakfast and 9:30 AM Recognition Assembly. Details: Veterans will sign in at the office and wear a visitor pass. After signing in all Veterans will go to the multipurpose room to enjoy breakfast. Students who bring a Veteran must check into class first. They will then be called down after 8:30 AM to meet their Veteran in the gym.
